Getting around Akumal

Vans: There are vans regularly running up and down Carretera 307 (Federal Highway 307) between Tulum and Playa del Carmen. The price to Playa del Carmen is about $12 pesos (U.S.$1.20). The price to Tulum is about $10 pesos (U.S.$1).
Taxis: Taxis also run up and down Carretera 307 (Federal Highway 307) between Tulum and Playa del Carmen looking for passengers. As with all taxis in the Yucatan, fares can vary wildly, so it's a good rule of thumb to ask what the journey will cost before embarking. You should expect to pay around $250 pesos (U.S.$25) for a ride into Playa del Carmen and about $150 pesos (U.S.$15) for a trip to Tulum. By la Cancha (the basketball court), you can find a row of available taxies as well.
Local buses: There is no a local bus service in Akumal.
Out of town buses: From Carretera 307 (Federal Highway 307), you can catch one of the second class buses that run to either the Playa del Carmen or Tulum bus stations. A trip to Playa del Carmen will cost about $12 pesos (U.S.$1.20), while a trip to Tulum is about $10 pesos (U.S.$1).
