Snorkeling and diving

Playa del Carmen is a wonderful place for snorkelers and divers because of its beautiful reefs. The most popular spot for snorkeling is Chunzubul, located about 1 1/2 km (1 mile) north of the ferry dock. There are some local companies that can take you there and to other reefs in along the Playa del Carmen and Cozumel coasts. One of them is Scuba Tarraya, located at the east end of Calle 2. They have snorkeling and scuba diving equipment for rent. They also offer fishing and boat tours. Other dive centers include Aqua Venturas located on la Quinta Avenida, between Calle 2 and Calle 4.

Golf

For those who enjoy golf, Playa del Carmen is home to an 18-hole course recognized as one of the best in the world. The club provides a first class practice area and is located inside the Playacar complex.
