Cueva de Tiburones (Shark Cave)
 Named for the nurse sharks who come here to sleep.
 Minimum depth 8 m (25 ft).
 Maximun depth 10 m (33 ft).
 Moray eels and schooling fish can be found here as well.

Las Redes (The Nets)
 Named after a giant commercial fishing net once found here (and since removed).
 Minimum depth 12 m (40 ft).
 Maximun depth 18 m (60 ft).
 Schooling fish, barracuda, stingrays, lobsters, and the occasional sea turtles can be found here.

Dick's Reef
 Named for the original owner of the Akumal Dive Shop.
 Minimum depth 12 m (40 ft).
 Maximun depth 18 m (60 ft).
 Impressive coral structures reaching some 6 m (20 ft) above the sea bottom. Short channels cut through the reef, and you may sometimes encounter sleeping nurse sharks and hunting barracuda.

Motorcycle Reef
 Named for an old motorcycle, overgrown with coral, located at the end of the shallow.
 Minimum depth 15 m (50 ft).
 Maximun depth 18 m (60 ft).
 Includes a large variety of soft corals, schooling fish, crabs, and southern rays. A fine spot to see feeding turtles.

Yal-Ku
 Located right in front of Yalku Lagoon.
 Minimum depth 6 m (20 ft).
 Maximun depth 15 m (500 ft).
 Consists of a shallow dive. Famous feeding site due to the constant flow of nutrients from the lagoon. Under the coral structures several tunnels to swim through. Lobsters common.

Tzimin-Ha
 Named after the wreck of a 6 m (20 ft) fishing boat sunk here.
 Minimum depth 24 m (80 ft).
 Maximun depth 27 m (90 ft).
 Home to a variety of fish of all sizes, including jew fish and groupers.

Trigger Fish
 Consists of widely separated coral patches.
 Minimum depth 18 m (60 ft).
 Maximun depth 30 m (100 ft).
 Home to a large variety of tropical fish not found elsewhere.

Gonzalo's Reef
 Named after a local fisherman.
 Minimum depth 18 m (60 ft).
 Maximun depth 24 m (80 ft).
 Large group of coral reef fingers with hawksbill, green and loggerhead turtles.

Xaac
 Fifteen minutes by boat north of Akumal.
 Minimum depth 18 m (60 ft).
 Maximun depth 27 m (90 ft).
 Reef fingers may reach up to 9 m (30 ft) from the sea floor here. Turtles, nurse sharks, and rays are common.
