Sabalos (Tarpon) It is the continuation of Barracuda reef, located to the south. Minimum depth 8 m (25 ft). Maximun depth 15 m (48 ft). Many caves with long swim-throughs. Reeg fish often spotted here, as well as commuting deeper water fish. Gentle current conditions.
Tortugas (Turtles) It starts across from the first Mayan ruin at Xcaret. Minimum depth 14 m (45 ft). Maximun depth 25 m (80 ft). A great varieaty of large barrel sponges. Named after the large population of turtles that reside around here and can sometimes be seen. Gentle current conditions.
Mama Viña Wreck South of Xcaret. Minimum depth 13 m (45 ft). Maximun depth 29 m (94 ft). This is a steel hulled ferry style ship intentionally sunk around 1995. A variety of sea creatures grow here providing shelter to many fish, barracudas and jacks. Gentle current conditions.
Islote Located between Barracuda Reef and Punta Venados. Minimum depth 21 m (69 ft). Maximun depth 30 m (100 ft). Plenty of corals and sponges found here. Lobster, fish, moray eels and turtles inhabit this place. Gentle current conditions.
Punta Venado Across from Punta Venado, 10 minutes from Playa del Carmen. Minimum depth 21 m (69 ft). Maximun depth 30 m (100 ft). Plenty of corals and sponges, lobster, moray eels, and turtles around here. Gentle current conditions.
Paamul Reef Located south of Xcaret, and minutes before Puerto Aventuras. Minimum depth 10 m (28 ft). Maximun depth 30 m (100 ft). Lots of fish, corals and sea turtles. Reefs of Paamul includes the following: Paamul Mini Wall: For skilled divers only. Nurse sharks, lobsters, moray eels, and pelagic fish. Paraiso Shallow: Coral patches rising 6 to 9 meters (20 to 30 ft) from the sandy bottom. Horst's Reed: A shallow of 14 m (45 feet) that houses minitunnels and grouper holes. Spotted drums are seen here sometimes along with glassy sweepers. Gentle current conditions.
